Providing free, accessible music education
to youth across the Bay Area since Sept. 2018
While we no longer require prospective students to be from a low-income family, we will prioritize those who are. After you sign up, you will receive a confirmation email and most likely receive an email with your instructor within 1-2 weeks.
Prospective instructors must be between 14-18 years old. They need to have at least two years of experience in their instrument. Instructors can sign up to be an instructor for more than one instrument. Ensemble experience is not required.

Notelove was started by Omar Shohoud, former Homestead High School student and current freshman at the University of Chicago in September 2018. His intention was to give low-income youth in the Bay Area the music education he was able to receive. Since then, Notelove has expanded with attention, now offering lessons to youth regardless of household income, and we are working on promoting our service to the entire state of California.
